What are your thoughts on Apples attempt to get into the world of renting?

I honestly think its the stupidest thing someone could purchase off iTunes. If you think about it most of the movies are even brand-new. Most of them are from months ago, not ones that just came out on DVD.
They overcharge you. It's about $3 to rent a movie at my local movie place. $4 for a not-so-new movie is not exactly efficient.
Finally, the amount of time is the worst. You get 30 days to press play or else its long gone. That part isn't bad, its the thing that happens when you click play. When you click play after "renting" it you have 24 hours to watch it and then its gone.

I was a little pissed when a few days of it being on my ipod, i had to "reconnect to itunes" in order to play it. I couldn't do that because my computer was broken. so whats the point of movies on the go if you have to reconnect after a few days?

    so whats yours? =D

I don't like how you have 24 hours to finish it after you hit Play either.

I think you should get 30 days to keep a movie even after you hit play, it just makes more sense. They want to provide us with the best services, they better improve this one. :(

I think it's a good idea for Apple's side, but as far as how they run it, I don't agree with them. I haven't tried it out myself, but from what you say it does not sound like that great of a system to use.

I have mixed emotions. I don't think Apple should try and get into the movie/entertainment business. But at least i think it's pretty good that you get 30 days per movie, although you can only watch it once :( But it still beats the video store rent time. because at my local store, you can get the vids they offer for about a week, but on itunes, you get 'em for a month
