Baidu.com is China's "Google" (Even though google exists in China, lol). Baidu is by far the biggest search engine used by the chinese. Therefore, it will benefit you a lot by submitting your site to their search engine, regardless of if you speak chinese.

The URL of where to submit your site:
°Ù¶ÈËÑË÷°ïÖúÖÐÐÄ-ÍøÕ¾µÇ¼
Code (text):

http://www.baidu.com/search/url_submit.html

Hmm, it's in Chinese! I don't understand!
Google Translate is a GREAT resource to use if you want to translate a page without installing any software. Set the language as Chinese > English

Simply copy/paste the URL into the text box and click translate. You'll be taken to the same page, except translated in English. Type in your domain, and verify the text.

NOTE: The red text in Chinese is the status of whether or not your site had been submitted, you need to translate it from Chinese to English manually (translate.google.com).

Ask if you have any questions :)

I suppose it cant hurt submitting there, i must admit ive never seen any bots crawling my sites from them. If you have a product / niche they are interested in then it might be good

In my opinion, submitting to them is just good for international exposure.

However, if we translate the chinese directory content to know where to navigate through the submission process, are they gonna make it in a chinese language?

Because Baidu.com is located in china, it must submit to censorship by the chinese government.

And because the government has no right to censor its people, I will not submit anything to Baidu.

Its purely for political reasons. But I see no reason to support censorship by a communist government.

I submitted it just to see what happens, ive had no traffic from them yet but i have had Chinese adverts starting to pop up on Google adsense :xconfused:

Coincidence ? or maybe this has something to do with it .

I think it is really simple to submit a site:

You only need to visit the link in the post above and put your domain in the input area and press submit button. All jobs done. :)

This is for people who need traffic from china - mainly, i suppose.
I found this pretty interesting, Baidu's PR is 9 but google.cn's PR is 8 !!!
Google is honest !

Well, Google HAS to be honest, else they wouldn't be where they are today.

Baidu is the best search engine in China, and i think you should know which county take you more traffic, you should add your url to their own search engine.

The amount of time it takes to submit your site to Baidu vs the potential traffic you can gain is a good deal, in my opinion.

With a few backlinks, the search engines will find you. There is no need in submiting your site to any search engine including baidu.

Search engines are called search engines for a reason - they find stuff on the internet, that includes your site.

Since Google announced that they will not be censoring and Chinese searches yesterday, January 12th 2010 I think Baidu search submittion is an important thing to do. Google will not likely reach an agreement with the Chinese government allowing for uncensored search in China. This means that Baidu Sohu etc. will be even more important in the near future.
