A far as I know, the nofollow attribute was made so that Google will not count that link as a backlink so that Page Rank juice will not be passed. How about Yahoo? What is their view on nofollow links?:~
To be honest ive never even thought about it , however if you look at yahoo's site explorer it does "sometimes" show nofollow links as backlinks on your sites. How they gauge whether to include a certain nofollow link and not another is a mystery to me .
Yahoo don't care about the no-follow and do-follow thing, Yahoo counts every links that you have created as long as its live. Google filter it perhaps Google wanted to have a less work to read and crawl with their billions of possible similar data's in link.

Yahoo doesn't care nofollow and dofollow link and it counts as backlinks. That's why there are many spammers in Yahoo Search Engine.
nofollow links are effective in some place.whatever the link is do nor no,it tells visitors some infomation and the same to SE
I agree with this explanation, I am not much concerned for yahoo, all I am concerned about it Google, they are the ones that matter.
NoFollow links are not a matter for Yahoo and still counted as back links of a website.No follow links are not counted in Google.
Sometimes having nofollow inbound links isn't bad at all. I read an expert SEO article before stating that nofollow links are not really a waste. It still count in some way underneath those SE indexing algorithm.

A nofollow backlinks are still a backlinks. The only difference is it won't pass pr link juice to target site.
Ever since in Yahoo's eyes the link with a no follow is still important to them they even crawl and index it because a no follow tag for them does not matter. They tend to read everything in a particular page that they visited.
Yahoo is filled with spam and they should follow a strict plan to deal with them, while Google is more accurate, and following a good tactic.
