Why link building is important?

Hi every one,Google always likes the back links.If you get these back links using your important keywords, you can get your these key at fist page of search engines.

what should be the frequency of getting back links , i mean in a month how many backlinks should i get at max keeping in mind that the crawlers should not take the black hat seo into account

The reason why Linkbuilding is so important is because search engines ranks a site based on how relevant your content is to the keyword your listed for and the numer of relevant websites/links pointing to the site

Backlinks also tells google how popular your site is. The more backlinks you have, the more often google goes back to your site, the more pages you get indexed.

TO get some good PR need quality BL, quality is more important than quantity... Google say high PR sites having priority in SERP

not only for link building also for having traffic for the site specially in posting on forums and social networking

True. Relevancy is one good factor to be considered in able to have a good quality of IBL specially if you are linking with your niche that is belong to a good neighborhood.

But does anyone have a good way of finding good linking partners within the relevant field? I'm looking for linking between web and graphic design related websites...
