Why do you run a forum? For profit? For entertainment? Do you have nothing better to do?

I do it because I love the topic of the forum I own.

A sense of accomplishment you get when it gets big. I like helping people, so that's why I'm on this forum helping out. And entertainment, because it is fun to run one and participate in a community that you helped build.

I like to do it because it gets my mind off a ton of other things that are going on. Also I have other reasons for my forum because it is a religion forum so we just try to spread our religion through the internet.

For the 'fun' of it, theres not a lot to do on the net which is unique.

I gave up running forums a while ago, and my new forum only exists because it pretty much has to (it's an official support forum for a website I'm creating). However, when I did run a forum, I ran it for the following reasons.

    1) Fun.
    2) Boredom.
    3) I had nowt else to do.

I run my own forum mainly because more often than not, when you are on someone else's forum, you don't have as much of a sense of relaxation, as you feel you are playing by their rules in a way. When you have your own forum, you are free to do what you want and don't have to answer to a higher up.

I run a forum because I don't like most anime forums. The staff are either jerks and/or they have too many anime downloads where they have no respect for the stuff.

I started my forum just for fun. I like the topic a lot. I also like the share what I already know. I'm also sure that I'll learn a lot more from the members of my forum.

Just for the fun of doing it. Also, it would be silly of me to be providing support if I didn't have it myself.
