i think setting up new search engines now may be pointless.. yahoo. msn and google have too much a higher rep to be over taken now

If you did would anyone use it anyway?...I think probably not.
I have seen sites like this sold, but would assume the new owners are very hopefull.
Most of them seem to draw data from google anyway, so whats the point??

however, google isnt very accurate with seachings, usually takes me a while to find something relevant on google, maybe a smaller more accurate seach engine would be a good idea

I bet its almost impossible to even make a living from a search engine, nevermind earn millions!

Yes, you can earn from them.

Create a site and use google custom search in it.

You can set your search each for mp3, images, video etc etc..

and every search made from that site will earn you money.

Just need to be a bit creative.

I am working on a small search engine Search at the moment, its still in the early days and still have a long way to go yet but i think it has some potential:): This one has the abilty to do 4 searches at the same time :cooler: What i am look into is adding a Proxy search at the bottom of the site, the idea being that you can use just the one site for all your searches, but this is only a idea at the moment and would welcome feedback on this idea :~

sounds alright, i think an idea would be too add lots more search features, eg. search for downloads, search for videos and stuff

ok cool, the more features the better, you gotta give a good reason for visitors not to stick with google, maybe try add a forum too if your traffic kicks up a bit
