I put my money on marketing. If you're going to market your site well then SEO becomes less important.

I think there is no comparison between marketing & SEO that is used for website promotion or you can say for web marketing & marketing is strategy how you sold your product so result is SEO is the part of marketing.

I think PPC is the best tool to get your product or service fast visible in web and other internet guys.

I think seo is better than marketing because in seo itself you will do marketing,building links,forum posting,press release,blogs ,article submission..so automatically the value will increase and you could get better marketing for your products.
