I want a new website and the domain has not been registered yet. I would like to know whats the standard procedure of starting a site from scratch and taking it online? I searched online but no good links to give me some info.
I want to outsource the web development to a company X and i want hosting from another company Y. IS that a good choice

First things first , secure that domain that hasnt been registered! thousands of domains are registered every second so you never know you may lose the one you want.

Then choose your hosting provider , look at reviews and decide what company would be best for you , i would recommend choosing different companys from registering your domain , hosting suppliers and web development , Never put all your eggs in one basket as they say.

Then your ready to go , after the site is setup and ready to go , read lots about promotion or if you have the money get some one else to do it.

    Your plan is good.

    1. Buy a domain from a company.
    2. Buy hosting from another company.
    3. Link them together, and you are good to go.
