I use a combination of layered security. And now that I am using Windows 8 Consumer Preview as my main sole OS I use the following:

    Microsoft Security Essentials
    SuperAntiSpyware Professional (Realtime resident protection)
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Ondemand)
    Spybot S&D (Ondemand)

I am using Avast new version for Client operating systems and Symantec for Server operating system, Both are running giving high protection to my computer machines. Updating virus patches is more important for securing our computers.

Kaspersky had been my loyal defender ever since. I never had any trouble with viruses and spams.
