if it includes keyword in it then it's good no matter how big it is.

Its difficult for people to remember or be bother to type. If your aim is just to dominate with a keyword in the search engines then no problem, but if you are a shopping site and need to create a brand then it needs to be short, punchy and catchy.

One major negative effect of it, is having hard time remembering it.

Long tail domain name is good but most of the people can't remember long tail domain names so there may be a cause to loose direct traffic.

    hi,
Long domains are very much difficult to keep in mind, it will not be easy for search engine to crawl the url. Most likely domain name should be around 10 to 15 characters long, preferably 11 character is good.

Long domain are only useful if you are targeting search engine apart from that if you are thinking about branding then it's of no use.

Long tailed domain names are very difficult to read, and it will be very difficult to represent on search engines.

    hi,
Long domains have some impact on seo front. One has to keep the domain to a maximum of 11 characters long. It is advisable.

A bit like your signature? Sorry I couldn't resist :)

My theory has been it'a hard for potential visitors to remember if then it's not a great user experience. Which in turn probably means it's not good for SEO.

There has to be a limit on this... people simply don't remember domain names longer than 3 words in my opinion.
