What do you consider a proper webmaster ? I know a couple of people that do not consider alot of the people around webmaster forums because of their lack of experience or because of the lack on revenue they are producing from their sites. Personally I believe a proper webmaster is someone that is actually earning a living , full time or part time from their websites. People that offer services to me are Freelancers not webmasters etc . So what do you think ? Do you consider a webmaster just some one that owns a website ?
Someone who has all around experience in general web dev such as, coding, designing, marketing etc. The difference between a webmaster and developers because majority of the time outsource their work.
I think a WebMaster is someone whose running a successful website and is knowledgable in the niche. But by successful I don't mean earning millions. A website might get thousands of hits a day but not be monetized!
I think to become a webmaster it is sufficient to know all (or at least major) website programming languages and internet marketing.
The word itself defines Webmaster, which means master of web services, that is the person who has a sound knowledge of the website development and is earning from it.
A Webmaster One who can handle all web related solution, Design, development, Marketing, Monitor the revenue from anlaytics.

Webmaster is not just someone who owns a website and not just knowing the applications and tools of web and programming. A webmaster would not be called as a master just for being these. A webmaster does not only know but act. He is efficient and effective in the field. He is also adept in every little detail of the principles and know how to execute it prior to the field of web. And a webmaster also shares his knowledge and help others to bring out their potential.
I don't mean that way. As long as he has the proper knowledge and execute it appropriately, then he is a master on his own right.
At this modern age.... Anybody can be a webmaster... In fact, there are a lot of people who knows nothing of those technical stuffs yet get a decent ranking and traffic...
The person who has experience about how to make the websites more user friendly and how to promote their website more batter way, In short, webmasters have the knowledge about, what people demanding more? and what is the best way to provide service to surfing people easily.
