    <span> is used to apply CSS style and/or class(es) to an arbitrary section of text and inline elements.
    Example-
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Span Tag</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    span{background-color:yellow;
    font-family:Verdana;}
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>This is my <span>paragraph</span> and I want to use span tag.</p>
    </body>
    </html>

    <span> tag is used to group inline-elements in a document.It provides no visual change by itself. It also provides a way to add a hook to a part of a text or a part of a document.
    Example:
    <span> element used to color a part of a text:
    <p>My mother has <span style="color:blue">blue</span> eyes.</p>
