Of course external links are better. It means someone is referring to your site because they think your site has some worth and SE's give weight to these links.

Internal links are links that you have on your site that point to other pages of your site and external links are those links that will open an external web site.

Internal link means inbound link which is called sub-pages and external link is outbound link which is called back-link. For example if your website is http://www.badcreditloanss.co.uk/ then it's internal link may be http://www.badcreditloanss.co.uk/unsecured-loans/. External link comes on our website from another website.

Links redirected from a website to itself are called Internal Links and Links redirected to any other website are called External Links. Internal linking is advised for better Search Engine Optimization results as External Links are to be kept at minimum because search engines do not like lot of outgoing links from a web page.

As per me Internal links spread your votes to different pages in your sites and external links give your vote to other sites. You also need inbound links that act as votes to your site from other sites.

    Hi,
The internal links are links from one page to another page on the same site while external links are links comes from an external site to our site. External links are more important than internal links because the external links are supposed to be measure of acceptance of your site among the web user's. These links are also important to improve your search engine ranking.

Both types of links are more important. External links can bring "juice" or "equity" to your site while internal links can help you to be more visible in search engines and getting crawled easily.
