As Google is taking signal from social media sites while deciding its SERP, so it's very important for SEO experts to use the popular social media sites to improve their sites ranking in Google. In my opinion, the top 10 social media sites are :

2. Twitter
3. Pinterest
4. LinkedIn
5. Tagged
6. Google Plus
7. YouTube
8. MySpace
9. MyYearBook
10. MyLife

I would also like to get suggestions from all of the members about what they feel about this list & whether they need addition or deletion in this list.

Yes you are absolutely right that these social bookmarking sites are very important to get boost for a website and for social media promotion but there is need to build a community on these sites.

I think it would depend on which type of community you're targeting. Well, you've mentioned the general ones, but I saw deviantArt in one of the replies here. Well, there are forums in dA, but most of the people there are artists. If you're looking to sell stuff there, it would be okay, but the chances would be low. I'm not saying that you should completely ignore it. You should still join because social media is supposed to be a way for you to create relationships.

Yes, community building or creating groups will be more helpful. The more engagement your profile on social media will have, the more social signals your site will get on Google SERP hence rank improvement.

Nice list but I actually uses only the big three Facebok, Twitter, Google Plus.

These out of 10, mostly I like facebook and twitter website for doing social media optimization.

I'll suggest you to try Pinterest now because it has already removed Google Plus from top 3.

Hey, why you have placed Google+ on 6th number ?? Google+ is the best social networking website for SEO because Google pays a lot attention at the link building on Google plus than any other website. If you make a page for your website there and link that page with your website and also link your website to that page then Google boosts your rankings simply by doing this technique

Google Plus traffics ranking is not much better than the sites like Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. The list made according to the traffic ranking.

It's a nice list, though at the moment, i am concentrating on the top3 from the list.
