I think Reducing Image, compressing html codes, Avoiding Java Iframe, choosing a good Host, reducing swf file and using CSS coding will do the trick.

Not everyone can afford to wait for 5 minutes in order to view a simple Web page. A slow Website is therefore a turn off and could potentially lead to loosing some of the few visitors you already have. Although there are many expensive software programs out there that can assist a site owner with analysing and managing Web pages, there are also some very good and free tools that can be used to evaluate the speed of your Website. This post will take a look at some of these free speed tools to help you make up your mind depending on your preferences.

Thank you for the good share. However, those tools are just a website speed measurement and cannot improve website speed anyway.

Even you have got suggestion from the tools, most of them are under these criteria

    1. Use correct image format. - Realistic image use JPG / Cartoon use GIF or PNG
    2. Reduce unnecessary code
    3. Avoid using unnecessary image and use text instead as much as possible. ie. you should use text menu navigation instead of using text in graphic as menu
    4. Quality web hosting is another key. Avoid using low quality or oversold shared web hosting.

GIF extension is recommended for icons and navigation links while PNG is for banner and images.

Thanks for sharing these tools. As far as the best ways to reduce the page load I'd recommend:

    - Optimizing all of the images
    - Reducing HTTP requests
    - Using divs/CSS rather than tables

good info, generally, the website's server has tremendous influence over the website's loading speed though. well i use IE's fast page loading function on certain sites, and it's pretty fast though
