These logos still workout

Well there are some logos that dont reflect the business but still are a hit with the intended audience, for
instance the BP logo may not show anythign about the business but still its well received and quite
sucessful too, so it all depends on how they are designed.

it depends both on the way it is designed and the company corporate image. What may not mean anything to some one, might mean a lot to some else else. As long as it works with their target audience and they are happy with it, then it means that for them it is the right logo.
