I think im going to sign up to twitter later, ive got facebook but thats just for friends so it would be good to have something to have all of my webmaster friends on too

Twitter really needs bigger servers...they've been "over capacity" several times now.

Don't worry orion, I'm sure twitter knows it will happen on the first few days when they get started because they are really hit attention of people specially those who interact always on www.

Twitter needs bigger servers. I think I already posted my twit link in another thread.

Idea is nice but bigger servers are required for twitters which is not so easy.

I know that they know that this will happen, besides they have this ride on my train so it means that they are expecting more members to come. Social Networking site's like Twitter are in line of having a huge amount of people.

We have tried to avoid all the repetitive self promotion that goes on at twitter... but replaced it with unique self promotion! Heh heh. Not sure if that's much better.

Honestly though, I have un-followed some otherwise intelligent people that tried to keep me listening by telling us how often they tied their shoe laces... etc.

Easier than you think Jeannie!

Just go to twitter.com and hit the big orange link that says 'Get started now'.

Make sure you choose an account name you like that is descriptive, you'll start linking people to it very shortly, like this: Pioneer Websites (PioneerWebsites) on Twitter

Next step is to tweet a bit - write a few short messages, showing what you're doing and what you're into.

Then find someone to 'follow' - which means seeing their tweets on your home page every time you go to twitter.com. Do that by typing in a search word (like PHP) and seeing what comes up. When you see someone you like, follow them. Their tweets (messages) will appear on your home page.

Soon enough others will follow you, and the network is born.... (ooohhh!)
