Suggestion: Security Center

Hi,

This is open to everyone but especially administrators

I have had an idea (no gasping or I will be annoyed and set fire to my house and then you will all have to buy a new house for me and then you will be sorry )

My suggestion is that you add a forum for listing bad I.P. addresses, that is those which are known for Spam, Hacking, Cracking and mutiny ect.

Obviously you may be worried about abuse, maybe posts could be moderated or you could perhaps use vBulletins user group thingy (as you used for the review team?) to only let trusted members post?

Please, other members, feel free to add to the idea

I like that idea, but I don't know if a whole forum for just IP addresses would be practical, as I think just one thread which keeps getting updated would be a lot easier. Perhaps we could expand on the whole idea of security, and maybe list other things on there as well.

It would be helpful, but what if one of the spammers who saw we were onto him changes the IP addresses? It would all go to waste.

I really doubt they would bother. I can't see Admin Utopia reaching every forum in existence so there would always be one more that is unprotected.

I agree, I dont think there should be a whole forum for it. maybe a sticky or two in board security.
