Which of these websites ( Social bookmarking or Social network) was better for driving traffic to your website as you experienced?
If you have something that people want to look at both could be equally as good , I remember when places like Digg used to send huge amounts of traffic from a front page story but now its just terrible in comparison , Facebook and twitter drive more traffic now days imo

Social networking sites are better compare to social bookmarking..digg, twitter,reddit are the sites which are good for better traffic..what i have experienced for my site..
Well IMO they are almost equal in driving traffic because they are both required participation in able to get the traffic that you wanted. First thing is that your content should be really good, second is how well your site can attract people to visit you. Third, you should participate to the discussion, sharing, voting, commenting, etc.

Well, in my opinion, I thinks its both social networking and social bookmarking. And in social networking, it will be helpful to your site if your it is all about things that people would look up to. For example about clothes, games, accessories etc. You just have to know how to attract your target visitors.
Both are good but they differs in number of ways for example if I have to choose one from both then I would prefer social bookmarking instead of social networking....the reason is that there are some social bookmarking sites which provide do-follow linking and I can get traffic as well as ranking in one attempt.
