Recently, I started using HTML. And I have come up with a site that possible doesn’t have no-follow tags on a single page. I thought of using it and gradually I will learn the pros and cons. Through mistake I came to know that it is alright if I have no follow tags on the site. However, I am still thinking whether it is absolutely appropriate to not include no-follow tags even on a single page that has quality content. I had an impression that the no-follow tag is required for a Terms of Service page. Now, I leave it to you to clear my doubt. Please help.
IMO, no-follow tags is use to have the other site connected to you not to have a link juices coming from your site though if you are link your other page from other pages you have it is better to have it with a do-follow tags to benefit the other inner pages you have. That way you can spread your link juices to your other pages.
No follow tags imo shouldnt be used at all internally , PR flows through a site equally which means you'd be robbing your self of some PR if you start no following pages, Not only that but google could see it as PR sculpting which isnt good
May be i am too late to answer looking at post date but still...Imo, you must hav nofollow tag to save valuable link juice from flowing to ranking wise unimportant internal pages like contact us, about etc....and to external links like comments, trackbacks etc Heres a nice article that describes about how nofollow & noindex tags work.
Yes, I was under the impression that Google suggested we use no follow for contact and privacy pages. However, they do change their directives and often contradict themselves, so perhaps I'm incorrect.
No follow doesn't that much bad at all, it is just that the GoogleBot will go to that page and crawl everything there, but it does not have to take into account the PageRank score of the referring site. ya i totally agree with her answer...and its gud if your site does not have dofollow attribute means the link juice of your site will not be transferred..so njoy..
Hello Friends, When to Use a No Follow Tag Using no follow tags on your website should always be done with caution because a no follow can often times provoke further investigation from the search engines. Keeping that in mind, you better make sure everything else on your website is 100% squeaky clean. If you are not sure how to manipulate PageRank throughout your website by the clever use of no follow tags don’t worry about it but there are some important instances you should use a no follow to either be safe or simply not waste your link power in areas it where it is clearly not needed. Paid Advertising If you have a paid advertising model on your website where you sell ad space those ads should always have a no follow tag on them. Since Google has come out and said paid links are bad and very frowned upon you want to make sure you don’t run the risk of receiving a penalty by selling links, because a paid advertising spot with a do follow tag on it is nothing more than a paid link in the eyes of the search engines. Trust Badges It is very popular for website to have a series of trust badges from the Better Business Bureau and sites like VeriSign that sometimes link out to those sites. You don’t need to pass on any link juice to those sites if you don’t have to, so put a no follow tag on that link to let the search engines know nothing is passing on to those websites. Thanks
