I want to build a new website and I need your opinion on the following concepts:

    I need:
A fast loading website, that is easy to optimize and easy to update.

    What should I choose?

    1. Simple PHP script, that I will develop and will customize it to have a hard SEO optimized website; each page will have different H1, H2, H3 tags, different page title, description and keywords.

    2. CMS script (wordpress or joomla), that is a harder to optimize for search engines, but it's easier to update.

Imo Wordpress would be you best bet , It easily customisable and best of all you can make the template as SEO friendly as you like. Joomla is slightly harder to Optimise because of the Core of Joomla isnt really designed for SEO . A custom script is always nice especially if you are the creator however you then do not have the support and the possibilty of other people creating plugin's and scripts to work with yours. Personally im liking wordpress the more i work with it. With a well coded template and the ALL in one SEO pack wordpress is great

    Thanks for your replay!

Do you think that the loading time of a wordpress website can compete with the loading time of a html or php website?
    I don't need a database (I think), and I don't need plugins, etc.

I already have in my mind the structure of the website, and I think that would be easier to update than a HTML website, but not so easy like a WP website. It require basic HTML and PHP knowledge.

I will think a little bit on what you said before...

If you do not need a database then yes maybe a custom CMS is the better option , any website that has a database will always be slower than a basic PHP or HTML site
