I think i know the answer to this question already since River is an SEO nut case lol but whats the point in spending money getting your site top for such a long time when you might as well buy traffic from google Adwords etc ?

Doesnt seem logical when you have targetted traffic at your finger tips ?

I did some SEO for a company, just look at this and tell me what is the best.
i - Before I seo their website, they spend about £900 per month on PPC
ii. After I did SEO on their site, they spend £0.00 ON PPC and they get more traffic than they used to before PPC. I now charge then £150 per month just to tweak their website every month. So, if you were the owner of the above company, would you rather sticl to PPC or hire an SEO consultant?

you won't believe how many people take the position digger takes, a friend is working for a company as SEO guy, the company currently spend about £250,000 on PPC per year and he cannot convince them to spend only about £10,000 on organic link building, I told him to leave them and let them keep making Google richer if they won't give him budget just to buy some quality links

Thats Amazing , especially since the proof that this would be better for the company is so easily proved. I guess the people that deal with the advertising budget just dont really understand.

Yes, there is still a lot of ignorance about SEO, because PPC is instant, its appeal to human greed of instant gratification.
With SEO you will not see result for about 3 months or so.

Well let us see, it from a different prospective. SEO is a long term measure for your website. while short term measures includes, effective advertising, adwords etc. to drive traffic. So, you should try a combination of all of them to come up with a good satisfactory result.

Of course SEO is worth it, if you want any one to visit your web site. And that is one of the reasons that most of use make a web site. sure you can spend lots of money on advertising but if you do your own SEO work it wont cost you anything. And you might learn something too.

Its good that you'll learn SEO personally but the problem is if your so busy dealing with what you really good at, with your business, that's the time that you really need someone to help you with the stuff. It is not bad at all if you will get somebody to do SEO for you

yes i agree with you , if you want to run your site on liong terms you have to do seo for your site , by your self or hire some one else if you can spend some extra bucks . But ppc and google adward just help you for that time when you are paying them after that you'r site automatically disappear or loose his major serp ranking ...

SEO doesn't just stop its a long term continuous process to ensure that you stay on the top. I find that some clients want to get to page 1, thats it job done, 6 month later shouting about still not being on page 1. You need to keep SEO going to maintain SERPs.
