SEO Link Wheel

Have you heard about the SEO Link Wheel, it says it will help you to increase your SERP's with this kind of technique.

Basically, a link wheel is an SEO technique utilizing multiple blogging platforms to interlink articles, that is one of the most effective ways to target a specific keyword and get to the first page on Google.

The key to build a good link wheel is to use multiple properties, and link each one to only one other article. You have to linked your article to another article but never linked back to the same article. This to create one-way backlinks to each of the properties going to your main site.

I heard about this technique, it's very useful and many people practice this creating squidoo pages, or submitting articles to directories.

I am using this technique from a while and really don't know that we say it as Link Wheel..

Actually there's a pattern in using link wheel, you have to send an article with a link of your another article submission and so on before it was link to your site. It is also a best way to spreed link juices of your index page's PR to your other internal pages.

It is more often the same as cross linking, where you create blogs in different platform and at the same time every link pointing to the main site by means of anchor text/direct link or toward to the other blogs associated to it. its a natural way were you can target a specific key phrase and at the same time create a relevant BL.

If you interlink all your articles / squidoo sites etc - even if just a one way link - then doesn't this tell Google that these articles /squidoo sites are all written by the same person?

I have heard this concept but have not used it. I am wondering why the link wheel is so powerful and if Google or others would punish this behavior.

You won't be punish if you do it right, all you have to do is to create a good structure of one way link to a one article you submitted and to the next article all the to your site. One advantage it can give is if you have a target keyword for your site and wanted it to belong in the first page of your SERP.

Link Wheel is the most ethical method and I think there is nothing wrong doing link wheel.

Link wheel works like this..

Imagine that there are three sites. The 1st one gives its own link to the 2nd one, the 2nd one gives its own link to the 3rd one, and the 3rd one gives its own link to the 1st one. So, we recieve a circle, or a wheel.
But as far as I know Google doesn't like such a wheel anymore and Google easily calculates the sites which have chosen to promote themselves with the help of such link wheels.
