Do you use a reputation system on your forum? If so, do you think it adds anything to the community?

I don't personally use a rep system however on forums it can be useful to see who is helping who etc.

I do, it adds a feeling that makes members want to be better so that they can have a high rep.

Why can't you? Are you on software that prohibits it?

Most softwares have it by default, and if it isn't there by default you can usually find a mod, what software do you use?

The one for IPB needs to be modded in -- currently I prefer my own system (which I borrowed from another larger forum).

Basically, each member starts off with a rating of 0. The minimum is -5, max is 5. If you do good, you get +1 to your rating... in case you do bad, you get -1. Of course, only moderators and administrators can change ratings. The ratings are public as well so anyone can see who is bad or good.
