I have a PHPLD 3.4. I have never before had the same problem, but now for some reason my meta tags cannot be read by spiders. I have checked through a few meta tag analyzers and they detect absolutely nothing. Yet when I view page source I can see them very clearly. Any ideas on how to fix this?

P.S. I have asked this question in PHPLD forum as well. No response so far.

I had a similar problem. The online way I was able to fix it was be removing the table from the DB and recreating from a backup.

    Hope it helps.

Never mind I just completely screwed it. I made the back up and deleted the whole DB. When I was trying to restore it it turned out that Firefox DID NOT download the backup. So now....

If you can see if in your source then the bots should be crawling it , bots do not access your database they purely look at you site as a source from what i understand.

Maybe you have something in the source telling them not to look ? What does the description under your search results say ? if its your meta description then you know they are crawling it.

Ask the host if they have any previous backup done. It should probably get you something back then nothing.

Wish I read the reply earlier. I started anew. This time though I have created more categories and the tags are being read as well.

River..you are true here..and might be they are using wrong techniques to add meta tags...I would like to tell that there would be a folder name template and go there at main.tpl file. It's control file and you can manage all the things from there.
