1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

    hiya!
    I am looking to open a webmaster forum (as I am getting success in webmaster blog :D),
    I cant afford VB, so I am looking to use PHPBB,

    So, is there any webmaster forum that is using phpBB, if you know any then please let me know!

    do phpBB offer any features which would make it more likely to webmaster forum like iTrader plugin etc??

    I will suggest you to have a look at MyBB.
    In my opinion, its far better (In terms of usage, easiness, and support) than phpBB.

    IMO nothing beats vBulletin.

    I suggest you to choose! SMF it works much better than other Open Souce Forum Environment

    PHPBB has a horrible layout I am afraid and I would not recommend it to anyone.
    SMF2.1 has more bugs then VB4 I'm afraid. (SMF2 doesn't work in Google Chrome).

    MyBB & SMF1 are very good options.

    So is IPB though.

    I like vb, IPB and free ones.. Menj likes vb.. Dan likes SMF i think. All a matter of preference

    is there any iTrader plugin in SMF, Phpbb or MyBB ???

    I have searched myself and found that only SMF has iTrader plugin!

    Also I have very good experience of smf and its support community is also awesome so i am thinking to choose SMF!

    Yeah! I am using SMF forum scripts in almost every forum every one of them! rating awesome because of its powerful plugins!

    Dont forget to install Quick reply, Shout Box & PrettyUrls! plugins

    i m using default quick reply, using pretty urlZ already..

    And recently upgraded to smf 2.0 rc3, and have not got any bugs yet

    I personally like PHPBB. I think it is very easy to move about and hows some steady results with little to no bugs.
