1. I've started a massive SPAM purge, any accounts that have spammed are being removed, also for a short period new user signups are disallowed until the SPAM cleaning is finished.

How do you stop a member who keeps coming back using proxies after you ban them? What do you usually do about it, especially when talking to them doesn't work.

Just keep banning them. They have to get bored sooner or later.

Report them to the ISP that their original I.P resolves to.

    Yeah, I would do this.

Unless you want to take a large action, you really just have to keep banning them over and over and over again. And there are really some people who will likely never get bored and keep coming back. It's sad but true.

Or you caould find what they always use in there name (like this guy that used to be on - always had a phone number in his name) and block that.

Yeap, when they are banned, they really are banned. I've been using it since the beginning of summer with no issues.

Wow, I might look at some other forums, see if they had any problems, then install that bad boy.

Careful on this... read the last pages of the vB thread, it's not supported, or updated, and... could be detremental to your SERPS.

Anyone who used vBSEO and then installed that mod would not be pleased at all, I mean you spend 150 dollars on a mod that can optimize your forums SEO and then you install this to find out all your cached pages are blank.

... as my kids would type... IKR??? ( I know, right? ) LOL

I had that mod tagged for updates, as I've been hoping to block proxies for some time now (on that other big board I ran)... to my knowledge, there's not a mod out there yet that does this successfully. I'm hoping the new versions of vB will include this in it's core. I'd be interested in anything else that might work! :D
