Setting meta tags, keywords, title, meta description properly and publishing unique content are known as ONSITE SEO... Is there anything which I have missed here under ONSITE SEO?

Lets not forget interlinking between your own articles. When your making a new blog post, and you touch on a subject that you wrote in depth about in another post - then link to.

H tags are overrated and overused. I have seen very little evidence that they do anything to help your site.

You might want to include content optimization as part of on-page optimization as well

I came upon this one on SEOMoz these days - it's not only about on site optimization, but still very well structured and useful for ranking factors : Search Engine Ranking Factors | SEOmoz

Yeah right, you can do that but don't over do it for it may lead you into penalty.
