I moved files files from a NTFS hard drive to a FAT32 drive not realizing that one folder contained a DVD image file of over 4GB. The folders all copied fine but I then discovered that the image file which was over 4GB in size disappeared without any warning from the moved folder. Is this a bug? Shouldn't an alert error/alert occur informing me that the FAT32 drive cannot store +4GB files?
The file was lost because [move] instead of [copy] deletes the source folders and files.
    Thanks

    Hi

I think you should have checked your data before tranferring from NTFS to FAT32.

Can I ask why you transferred from NTFS to FAT32? You should have changed the FAT32 to NTFS before transferring.

you should have checked it before but now if you want to recover that file, try tune up utilities. you can download it from Tune-up.com and install it. run tune up undelete, select the hard drive partition from which you want to recover deleted files.
