The version on yahoo that is up right now is the mobile version, I don't think it's the new yahoo page.
No i don't see new yahoo any where near goole, and to be true only the face has changed and servces are still same old and boring.

New yahoo is just new version in homepage... And i dont see much difference than before.. Yahoo can compete with google only if it introduce new advanced features...
I see New Yahoo no different form the older version of yahoo, i think both are still very similar and not too many changes are made in them. And google is still better than the both the versions of Yahoo.
The new version of yahoo is just its homepage. I really don't notice any different between old and new yahoo. It's just the same. And in my opinion, google is still ahead against yahoo.
There is no major difference in new and old version of yahoo, yes it is little faster than old but yahoo needs to improve it and add new features as the Google is doing.
All I know that is a major change in Yahoo is that they have a merged search algorithm with Bing. So you'll observe that most of the search ranking result from Yahoo of your website is the same with Bing's.
You're right Yahoo and Bing are merged in business. The algorithm of Yahoo is changed, the backlinks from Yahoo is not working anymore especially in US and Canada. Yahoo Search Engine is powered by Bing.

I dont know about the new version of yahoo homepage, yes a new version of yahoomail is launched, and it is not as good as the older mail.
