Need to know about some new tactics

I am very new to seo.

If anybody there, feel free to reply me.

I have been developed a site with some knowledge in the onpage side.

Now i want to do seo for that site. Here after i have no idea to put my hand in site content for some period of time.

But i want to increase my targeted keywords position up by search engines through seo.

what are potential way to achieve my goal.

Little bit i know article submission, directory submission, and social bookmarking.

But i need to know what are the tactics used in that to make our keywords appear in top.

Participate in a question and answer site, like "yahoo answer"...

- Use directories and Social bookmarks to increase your backlinks.
- Use real website and advertise on them and attain valuable users.
- For a start, DON't use google adwords.
- Use free promotions wherever possible.

This should get you going for a start, then you might want to go big and spend some cash in doing the SEO of your website.

- DONT buy traffic from companies. It is harmful to your sites. They use iframes causing problems lately.

Well. what u r doing now continue the process. Also make Back links from Forums like this. Give preference to quality than quantity

If your site is new, the first important thing you need to do on your Link Building is to provide and gain Baclinks from different sources. first of all define your key words, first start with 3 or 4 keywords. It would increase your effectiveness. after sufficient work or after you gain ranking grab some other.

First select the targeted keywords. Dont try to rank for mosre number of keywords. Intially start with 2-3 less competitive keyword and try to build backlinks.
