Do to the nature of the internet im not going to allow the software to be open source. Some code will be open and the software will be easy to change the look and feel. Also the software is going to be 100 percent free. I will post a demo link up in the next 2 week. I do hope i can find a couple beta testers at this board.
great stuff unknown, I will look forward to seeing the board, I think I could help out with beta testing , ill set it up on another one of my sites and let everyone have a play. Has it got features to easy install mods etc ? or is that something that you would be looking to implement in an updated version at a later date. Also would it come with mod-rewrite options and create meta descriptions automatically ? I know im probably getting a head of my self but just some things that i would like
just the basics for now, but as a continue the board will advance and several plugins will be created
Let me know when you have/ or someone else has a working demo and ill come and post on there to check for problems for you
May 25th is the planned release date. I decided to make the software open source as well so others can develop the software even further. If it all stays on track i will post the domain where the software will be released on the above date. thanks for the support ...
Thanks to you for offering to us this script under the open source format, i would ask you what requirements we need to run it?, same as these for vBulletin, SMF, phpBB and so on or is there any special need?. Thanks once again for your contributions
Hi you will only need a server that supports php and mysql. i decided that the script will be much better off allowing it to be open source. This will open up thousands of doors. Some good doors some bad doors.
yes i do have a domain registered for this software. Its not ready for the viewing or using and that is why i set a release date. It would not be fair to the user or software to post the link. First impressions are everything so i dont want to post a link to buggy/incomplete software. Thanks for the interest in the software. It will be released at the date i posted through hell or high water.
I can't wait to see it, another question (sorry if i make tons of questions but i haven't the fortune of discuss with a CMS' coder every day): how difficult is create a custom skin or theme for your script?, it's some simmilar to commercial scripts?.
it will be as easy as any other script. forumroot/templates/default/ You can create a folder like forumroot/templates/newtheme/ also image folder forumroot/templates/newtheme/images Then simply create new images to fit the needs. you can change the color theme by editing the style.css and the admin.css the admin panel uses a different style sheet. the layout is stored in multiple TPL files that can easily be altered . Since im making the software open source i have made it a point to give details on what EVERY line of code is doing. Also 99% of the text is stored in a language.php file I did it like this so it will be easy for someone to make different language packs for the software
Really looking forward to checking out this site! From where and how do you intend to provide the Custom avatar to the users of the site?
Did you released it?, i'm waiting your script . If yes please remember to update this thread with the info about where download it.
Sorry for being so inactive over the last couple weeks. i ran into some personal issues. Anyhow I'm back in gear now! wudbb.com is going to be the home of my board. Anyways i have been plugging away big time to get back on track since i fell way behind and did not deliver on my estimated delivery date. Most All version 1.0.0 bugs have been worked out that i have found. The current design is VERY POOR and im working extremely hard on getting it looking presentable . there are also a couple Posting bugs that im pulling my hair out trying to fix. I'm not sure im going to keep the current bbc writing and more and likely rewrite that ENTIRE part of the script in later versions. So everyone interested in playing around with this script please BOOKMARK New Document because the script will be live and ready for download on the 12th of this month. Regards Brent WUD Bulletin Board ------- The Insane Mad board
Did wonder where you had got to mate, hope everythings good now. Bookmarketed and ready to see it bud, look forward
off topic here but did you ever resolve that issue a couple weeks back The uh issue with the db error?
Yeah i did bud, it was all to do with that bloody .htaccess not rewriting the URLs properly , when you go to the original URL with the cat-id it worked fine, so ive left it at that. Not bothered about Keyword URLs in that part anyway
