    Microsoft to buy Yahoo?

The New York Post reported Friday that Microsoft has asked Yahoo to enter formal negotiations for an acquisition that could be worth $50 billion.

I don't think that it should be allowed. Despite saying that Yahoo will remain it's own entity it is only a saying. It's like saying that the Chinese Government would allow freedom of the press. If Yahoo is bought by Microsoft there only will be two companies controlling the search and the advertising. So, just like oil companies, they will set some outrageous prices and lower the commissions for the publishers. Not that it isn't happening already. I mean Yahoo asking $300 for listing in their directory. I wonder if after they are bought by Microsoft one would have to buy Vista before being able to get a listing.

If google will not allow paid links, Microsoft will :)

So Google will need to change some of its strict rules

Did you know that Microsoft at one point tried to buy Google? Google was a very small company then but now it will be impossible.

Yes. I would have just sold and lived the rest of my life.:biggrin:
I think they even had talks on possible mergers or partnership. Oh thats how Microsoft begins before they can totally take over.

The software king now wants to plunder the internet kingdom and Googles tactically entering the software world. The war of the giants has just begun!

I would not like microsoft to buy yahoo for the simple reason that it will strengthen their battle to have a complete monopoly over people's pc's and the entire internet. Google is a big thorn in their side buying yahoo would bring them 1 step closer.
