    Technology giant Microsoft offers to buy search engine company Yahoo for $44.6bn (£22.4bn) in cash and shares, the company announces.

    That is a massive amount of money!

    I am not sure if this is actually good news for anyone other than Yahoo shareholders really.

    I personally dont like Microsoft as a Company.

    exactly. Me too don't like it much. it is good only for operating system, it has nothing good ONLINE as compare to other companies

    I think this is bad news.

    Microsoft can never compete with Google, so they buy Yahoo.

    We will be basically down to two big engines now, not great imho.

    I don't know how much money that is...In fact, what is BN? I think that would be an interesting combo...The power of Microsoft behind the second largest search giant...I still don't think people are going to be switching search engines from Google to Yahoo or Live....But I don't know...If they pour enough money into it, they could take down Google...

    I'll tell you what they need to do, they need to bend to the requirements of webmaster, like Google has...
