Are you all using meta keywords in your website because a large number of SEO experts are stating the fact that Google does not give any importance to meta keyword. I will be waiting for your response.
I still use them on all of my sites purly because although (apparently) the major search engines dont use them anymore, there are still smaller ones that do which could ultimatly bring a couple of potential customers. Im personally still in two minds as to whether the larger search engines have totally discounted the meta tags or not too , they possibly could just glance at them if there are certain variables not installed on the site like <h1> tags etc. Although this is purly my speculation and has no fact to it thats just my thoughts. Plus you dont see many people removing them do you, Imo if the site still works with them installed then there is nothing wrong with keeping them with the off chace it may help somehow. Another thing is that although search engines dont look at at them maybe PPC publishers look at them to get a better targeted ad ? who knows ?
Yes, I'm still using Meta's for my site because it is essential to have it though Google don't appreciate it much its still helps to crawl the site because it has descriptions, titles and so on. Also, it helps the user to find the site as it shown in its snippets but yahoo loves it much.
i think using meta tags specially meta keywords can really help on your on page optimization and SERP ranking...
The major SEs dont use the keyword meta tag any more, but for some reason I am informed they still appear to read and include its contents in keyword detection algorithms. Many smaller and niche SEs still use this tag so it still has relevance. Keep it in, there's still an SEO opportunity here.
Meta keywords and meta tags are both important, It can help SE to optimize your site well because they follow your link in a single querie of the searcher. You have to use it wise.
Before the google most almost all major search engines give importance to meta tag, and not pay more attention in the content of the page. Know google give more importance to the content of your page. But it would be not better but goes negative to your site if your meta and content are not in harmony.
According to my experience all meta tag except meta description which display with title in SERP, no use. But some says meta title is usefull, I checked the site by putting some keywords in meta title ( our company name tag and its not competitive).. wait for long time.. not come in SERP. So i removed and place the keyword as hidden text. After some weeks its appear in SERP
yeah, im also using meta keywords for my site because other search engines still count them as a ranking factor in their algorithms.
