   Well, I'm off to bed after asking this, and will check on the thread in the morning.
   
   Is it possible for me to keep the default Joomla template (on Welcome to the Frontpage) but change the image that is in the top left corner?

   Yup just change the image in this fold on your hosting :

   The easy way would be to just replace it with your image and rename your image to the same name , but if you wanted to do it properly you just have to edit the css for that template.
