    Hey,

As you may know I made the site, Source Boom - Webmaster Help and Resources, however, due to the amount of competition out there I am going to change what type of site it is. I was wondering would a big general blog on Tech, Entertainment (movies, games, tv shows etc), Celebrity etc... Work for this domain?

    Regards,

    Josh

Its a pretty generic domain so it can be used for virtually anything webmaster, tech , gadget related and much more . However any niche you go with will have a good amount of competition, You just have to work hard. Nothing comes easy in this business

I know, the internet isn't what it used to be like :( So could I use it for that then, i.e. is that domain easier to remember etc?

Also what do you think of this? I am trying to use it for CPALead,

Invasion V - Bringing you information on the TV series 'V'

Quick question, can you use CPALead and Adsense on the same page?

    Regards,

    Josh

Yeah i think its a good name bud.

According to Adsense TOS you can have other networks on the same page providing they dont look like google ads.

Ive never used CPA Lead so i couldnt tell you about their TOS.

Now off out for the night , see you all later

Yeah, Iridium is very cool template, and can build a high complexity joomla website with.

Are you planning to change the design on your website? Or this is for the new one?

It's kind of both - I'm re-starting sourceboom.com.... As a tech/entertainment/news etc. site. Would joomla or wordpress be better?

    Regards

I can't say what is better for you. I know that if I start a website, I would make it with Joomla, but you can use WP if you think, that is easier for you.

If you want only a blog, where to upload text and images, it's fine WP, if you want a higher complexity website, than use joomla.

I think is already a thread that can answer your question on what to use:

Having your keyword in the URL gives additional advantage in SEO point of view.

Right, this is a really general domain name and could be used for any purposes. IMO.
It would boom for any sources if you could use your keywords and market tactically. :)

I dont see the problem with this domain. However it does not contain any keywords that you might target.

I like the idea of a tech / web development blog. SourceBoom.com is a rather brandable name.

As long as competition exists, it is extremely hard for you to stay at the top in ranking no matter what domain you concentrate on. The topics you've chosen such as Tech, Entertainment and games are also highly competitive. It is very important that your site needs to be SEO friendly if you want to consistently stay on top where you need to upload original content and keep your blog breathing.

You could always add keywords to the domain name by utilising subdomains for major areas of your site.

Even Google is happy to show results from the same domain as long as one is from a subdomain.

The rule is though that you need to have enough content under each domain for it to warrant a high ranking website of its own. So think of sourceboom as the branded corporation, and subdomains as your child companies...

    massivekeyword1.sourceboom.com
    massivekeyword2.sourceboom.com

I'm not sure if they do it but here's a good hypothectial for the LG brand:
    phones.lg.com
    dryers.lg.com
