I think it is, but difficult to learn on your own without anything. I would recommend taking a short beginner's course where someone can talk you through the basics. You don't need a long course or anything, I went on a short one and it was really good. Got the hang of everytihng and after that, once you know the basics you can use YouTube and watch tutorials there and learn step by step, depending on what you want to do.
