I am tired of this 1 year, 2 year domain expiry...And top of it, if one forgets to renew the domain name, your complete efforts of building a brand name goes down the drain.

I ask everyone...is it possible to buy a domain name for life?

I guess the maximum duration to register a domain is 10 years. It also depends upon the domain extension and registrars. You can try contacting your domain register and ask him the maximum tenure to register it.

I prefer to get domains from Eurodns. They are offering quality service and low pricing, I've never noticed they don't provide any domain extension, all you need you'll get.

You can rely on Sibername.com. I like this Domain Registrar and its unique features:
    - Free Privacy Service - Hide your address on whois queries! (Main competitors charge for this service)
    - Unlimited forwarding and free online tools.
    - Easy Change of Registration Details
    - Better protection for your domain name

There are also some hosting companies offering domain registration service along with a free domain for life time. Your domain name will remain active and free as long as you keep your web hosting account active with them. This is the best way to get rid of renewing domain name and keeping their tracks.

I think nobody likes to buy a domain name for life time unless it belongs to his/her personal name or business. You can buy it for 15 or 20 years, however it depends on a domain name provider how long it considers a life long period. It would be better for you to send an email query regarding this to a reliable domain name provider.

As it has been said multiple times, no, you cannot register a domain name for life because 10 years is the max.

You can try TG Domains, they provide web hosting and domains at an affordable price. If you perchance a web hosting package for as low as $4.99 /month then you get a free domain for life included. 99.9% Uptime, DDOS Protection, cPanel and more. Check them out at http://tgdomains.com
