Is Alexa Rank Important To You?

I have seen people checking their ranks and statistics through Alexa all the time. It tells you some accurate graphs as such, whats the soul importance of all this? Why do you think it is so important ?

True. However it still adds life in a search engine optimizer, at least they can see quickly if their site is improving trough the traffic updates of Alexa. But for me no use at all because i got my Google Analytics and Statcounter for the traffic monitoring and everything.

Alexa is spyware. Nothing having to do with spyware is important to me. I do not promote spyware in any shape form or fashion. I fact, I suggest that people use spyware removal tools to get alexa off their system.

Alexa ranking simply depends on the number of people who have downloaded the Alexa tool bar. If your visitors are not the type who have downloaded the toolbar, nor are they aware of Alexa, you'd get poor rankings in Alexa.

However, there are ways to improve your rankings in Alexa.

1 - download the toolbar in Alexa and make sure that your PCs have your homepage as the default homepage. Within a couple of months, you will see a marked improvement in your Alexa rankings.

2 - use Alexa redirection URL in your site.

First you need to understand how the worhless Alexa ranking system works. First of all it only works from browsers that have the Alexa toolbar installed (BTW this is considered as spyware by a number of anti-malware tools). For each site that is accessed by the browser the toolbar sends the result back to the Alexa site, hence tracking the online activity of the user. The number of hits across all the browsers are added up and a ranking produced.

The flaw - in concept the idea seems pretty good, in practice however it would need EVERY browser to have the toolbar installed to be effective, it would need EVERY firewall to allow Alexa traffic from the toolbar to be sent back to the Alexa site, and there would need to be a privacy policy set up so that it was clear what the toolbar was sending back. Finally the toolbar would need to be recognised as legitimate instead of a spyware tracking tool.

How to increase ranking, it is a fraudulent method but it works. Install the Alexa toolbar on all your browsers, and load your own site. For every new session you start and open your site you generate a hit, simple as that!

True Alexa rank is important,but not so important to me.I prefer practical traffic.

I have yet to understand why people promote spyware? And then those same people complain that their computer is running slow, or the pages will not load.

Spyware = bad. To therefor, alexa = bad.

Because the page rank increases the your position in the search engine,otherwise you will be in the 100th or 1000th page.

Alexa traffic can help you distinguish one sites popularity when it comes to traffic tho most of SEO prepare to have a good page rank when it comes to popularity.

alexa rank is important for information about websites.I use it to know information about sites.If you want to get traffic for a site and link that site to another website then alexa will be helpful.
