1. Quality Content

The first important factor that Google or other search engines use to spider our website/blog is the quality of the content in our website. To rank well, we should maintain quality. The proverb "Content is King" perfectly fits in this situation. Writing a post/article will bring you traffic, but the traffic will not be converted to valuable clicks. The users read our article and if it's not written properly then the visitor may skip our website and move on to another website that had more quality. So, always make sure to write quality content.

2. Link Building

Link building means gathering incoming links from various websites/directories that have a high page rank. There are 3 ways of links.

• One way Links
• Two way links
• Three way links.

In the above 3 types of link building techniques, Google loves the 1 way links most. So, try to gather more one way links to your targeted keywords.



3. Keep your Blog/Site Fresh

Always keep your blog fresh by writing new and innovating articles that makes users visit your site regularly for updates.

4. Be careful with the 404 Pages

If your site has 404 pages (i.e., error pages-URL doesn't exist), then don't forget to monitor those URLs and redirect them using the 301 redirect script. If you have 404 pages or broken links in your websites, then Google will consider your website low quality and your site won't get indexed properly. Use webmaster tools to find out whether your website got 404 pages or not?.

5. SEO Friendly Website

To increase page rank for your website, consider your website to be SEO friendly. Try to place your targeted keywords in the title tags, Meta tags and also in the body of the posts. Including your keywords in the mentioned areas will make your website SEO Friendly and the search engines love SEO friendly websites and rank those websites.

6. Social Networking

Join multiple social networking sites and publish your website along with your opinions. This will bring you both traffic and also back links to your website will be increased accordingly.

I can't really ad too much to the above...but I will mention that focusing on one way "follow" links as well as regularly updating your website with quality content are the two most important factors in my opinion, Assuming you have already done keywords and meta tags which are the foundation of your strategy.

At the end of the day,month,year everybody who has done link exchanges will be penalized on google. I strongly disagree with that point. THe other tips are nice

Dude, not only quality content calls bots to visit but the regular submission of fresh content makes bot to visit regularly.

Social networking sites are good but very much tricky to pull traffic.

If a website, say a commercial site showing some fixed products, has noting to change (content) regularly then how he does SEO to come up to the first page of a search engine? any idea?

IMO, good quality content is still important because search engine loves quality site with a quality content. One thing is that people are more likely wanted to visit your site if there is something great to read with it.

Blog commenting is also ways to increase your PR.

Quality and fresh content is most IMP part or seo works.
and try to get quality backlinks using one way and three way links methods.

One way link is the best but i doubt still tree way links has value. It is easily identifies by Google.

I read in blog that in 2010 Google will not consider blog commenting as backlink. I doubt about the news, do you know the authenticity of this news?

Link building is a great way to increase your sites PR, but remember not to build too fast. Search engines like Google will penalize website, depending if they are old or new, that have a suspiciously high link increase over a short period of time. Always try to build back links steadily over a period of time, increasing more and more each time as you go.

One should be much cautious about space of link building, at least initial first three months.

In my own experiences, original and fresh contents with dofollowed and niche relative backlinks would be really helpful for getting a nice PR.
