    1.Well thought-out usage of photos and videos. Heavy images and videos slow down the load time. Use

    them only if required.
    2.CSS and JavaScript should be positioned in external files, this greatly influences the page load time.
    3.Make smarter usage of images it greatly influences the speed.
    4.Things like these improve the website performance and thus significantly improve the speed of the site.

    I agree with you, its important that loading time is minimize to be able to load your page properly and to have much minimal time of waiting for it to come out, many people who are using the net loves the site who can load easily.

    Loading time of any website is important for users, and SEs also prefer such website which have less loading time.;)

    1.Get A Fast & Less-Loaded Web Server.
    2.Know When To Use GIF, JPG & PNG Files.
    3.Use XHTML – No Tables.
    4.Use CSS Smartly & Compressed.
    5.Merge & Compress JavaScript Files.
    6.Manage Included Files Better.
    7.Use HTTP Compression.
    8.Better Coding.
    9.Cache Webpages

    Another thing that you can focus on is that you need to choose your hosting wisely.. If your going to be paying for Shared hosting but getting tons of visitors, the speed of your site will suffer. However getting a VPS for that site may make your speed better.
