    Hey.

I was wondering, what would everyone do if they had to start a new forum, and had either $5,000 or $10,000 to start - do both if you want :D You goal is too make the forum one of the most successful out there, with a minimum earning of a few $xxxx per month.... Please include all costs with them, like domain, hosting, vB (if you go for vB). etc.

    Regards,

    Josh

It would be extremely hard to get a forum making $xxxx with such a small budget .

But Probably spend 1k on vb script ,custom mods to make the place unique, vbseo, design , around $500 on paid high quality mods . $1000 on paid posters ( high quality not the crap you get a DP ) and then spend the rest on SEO , Banners and google adwords .

    Hey,

Would it actually be that hard, I am thinking of making a forum, sending you the topic, I thought that $10,000 would be more than enough :( Where would you buy paid posters, off sites from google?

    Regards,

    Josh

$10k isnt that much really and can be spent in a matter of days, you'd have to be extremely professional and know what you are doing to even get the forum to $200 a day with that amount of money.

Money can buy you alot of things but forums can die just as quick as they are made if you blow all money at once and dont actually get the community spirit going. thats why you would have to spend money on good mods that know about the topic and make good posts which people would naturally search for .

There is alot more planning needed than you think

Ahhhh okay thanks, although it would only be like $60 a day, within 2 months, would be my aim. Do you think thats possible? Whats the best way to monitize a forum, Adsense?

To be honest if you want to earn money online , dont go with a forum . Forums are terrible earners compared to blogs and affiliate sites.

With 10K you could hire an SEO , hire some exceptional Blog posters that know what people want and then you could make money from adsense and more importantly direct adverts. Once you get money coming in you can continue to pay those posters and you have a successful business

Forums are not the way to go for fast money

I think that if you want to make a big forum, that will take time, and is not about the money.

If you want to earn money, than invest your money in blogs, place ads (PPC and affiliate links). From a well organized blog with high traffic and quality content you can earn really much, and don't need to spend $10K
