What is the difference between HTML and HTML 5?
Hi @irfan khan ,
HTML5 is the latest iteration of HTML, in which the development focused on the improvement of its previous versions. Different from the primary publishing format for scripting language which is HTML, some of its exceptional features in this latest iteration are Media Features, Geolocation API, Web Storage, and Application Cache.
I included here our previously written blog about the Basic Concepts of HTML5 with the link http://weboutsourcing-gateway.com/blog/2013/12/web-development-basic-concepts-of-html5/, for your reference.
Hope this is helpful.

That's great dude. You explain well about both HTML: and HTML 5
HTML 5 had come up with so many enhanced features of previous HTML version.
As explained above the difference between HTML & HTML5, here are some of the changes delivered with the new HTML5 version.
1] New element <canvas> for 2D/3D graphics.
2] New elements <video> and <audio> for media playback.
3] Content-specific elements such as <article>, <footer>, <header>, <nav> and <section>.
4] Full CSS3 support
4] Support for the local storage.
5] New form controls, like calendar, date, time, email, url, search
6] Local SQL Database
7] Web application cache
Additionally, the HTML5 elements and the API is supported with most of the web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.
HTML 5 is an updated version of HTML. It’s much similar to HTML. But difference is HTML 5 contains much better support for media such as, an audio and video tag.
The big and main difference between HTML and HTML5 is that HTML5 has the additional features of audio and video tags. I would like to mention a blog, which contains some key differences between HTML & HTML5 : http://goo.gl/TYz025
HTML 1.0 - 4.0 (and XHTML) were all determinations for laying out content and pictures on a page. Later amendments incorporated a few endeavors at giving semantic information which permits fundamentally for mechanized classification and connection of HTML records.
HTML5 really strives to be something altogether different. It means to be a greater amount of an application advancement stage, which incorporates laying out content and pictures, as well as playing feature and sound, intelligent 2d and 3d design, putting away information in the application, managing online and logged off access to information, and continuous systems administration conventions for trading information as it happens.

Very important question. I want to share something on it. I've made a difference through this way.. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/default.asp check this link and see which tags are going to use in HTML5. So you will find some of them are new in html5.
Also you can check this link for details ...http://www.w3.org/TR/html5-diff/
HTML is a markup language but HTML 5 is new, there is no big difference in both of them. HTML 5 have some tags and attributes which are not in HTML
HTML were all specifications for laying out text and images on a page while HTML 5 includes not only laying out text and images, but also playing video and audio, interactive 2d and 3d graphics...
Thanks for sharing.
HTML5 is more updated compared to HTML. HTML 5 is an updated version of HTML and it has an updating of Audio and Video Tag.
