Many of my sites rank well with MSN and Google however I nearly never do well with Yahoo. Is there a special way how I should optimize my website for Yahoo?
The first step for this is having a yahoo directory listing. Yahoo gives much value on links. So if you want to rank well, make sure you have relevant links on your site.
Google pay more attention to the inlinks, but Yahoo! has different tasting. If you want to gain nice ranking beside increasing keyword density you should place the KWs into headings, bold style.
I do that already. I just checked the logs of one of my websites just now and I used to have mostly MSN and Google traffic. Now I get lots of Yahoo traffic and no MSN and Google traffic. This stuff is really confusing.
I've been noticing some changes in my Yahoo rank, and I haven't made any changes in my site, nor have I been building backlinks. That has lead me to believe that some of how Yahoo ranks a site is based on time. The longer the site exists, maybe the better your ranking will be, and that ranking will be based on backlinks, much like Google, only you have to wait longer. That's my guess.

I think it is almost the same as other engines ands we can get good ranking just by working in normal way. I have read in one of replies that someone advice to get listed in Yahoo Directory but that is almost impossible.

Get site-wide links. All the above work well for MSN and Yahoo. Add keyword-rich content to your site regularly. Get the content constantly added and updated. Both Yahoo & Google will spider it more frequently. If it is a blog, have a RSS feed on it to get it indexed by Yahoo quickly. Create a few blogs using different names and write on the same theme as your main site. Then link back to your site for the rest of the article. Both Google and Yahoo will see that these blogs are linking to your main site. Your main site's link popularity will go up!
It is my opinion that there are only 2 things that money can't buy, and that's true love and home grown tomatoes....I don't think Yahoo is on that list....Happy new year..
yes yaho is checking relevant backlinks than he give you ranking. so try to get relevant links to achieve yahoo high ranking.
Yahoo love in-page optimization. So if i where you, try to optimize your page well by doing on-page. Limit the weight of your pictures so that it will have a less time in loading your site.
