I think you have to double your hard work for your site to get your targeted traffic and visitors for your site.

Alexa is only a traffic estimate. Google is a ranking estimate based on traffic and other stats. For realistic analytics you need to check Google analytics and with other third party techniques. I use GTop statistics on one blog and it tells me quite a lot. I checked today and I am getting an average of 625 visits according to them. Two other sites that I checked today put the visits at over 4,000 a day. I have not checked Google today. This is without writing any articles. I just started writing a few articles yesterday and will see if that improves my traffic anymore. Content and keyword SEO are the two most important factors in gaining traffic. The traffic on this blog is generated from multiple sources. But traffic is not important if they are not buying anything. If your traffic is all looking for free information and nothing else then they are window shoppers and you really do not need them, unless you are not trying to make any money from your efforts. You may want to get some more backlinks quickly. I have two sources that can generate quick links for free. It just takes some effort on your part. I am not sure with how to get 5000 per day visit but I am sure if we make good and quality back links and update blog content on daily bases and socialize it then we can achieve the per day 5000 visits target with in couple of months. As every one know that that content is King in Search engine optimization and SEO is continuous process so consistency in SEO gives you big reward. Cheers.
I do believe as well that the best solution is such case is of course is SEO. No doubts. There are no other ways to reach your goal. I think it is pretty easy to get 5000 visitors. You obviously should double your SEO work and ensure yourself with patience and with consistency of aim. Remeber: nothing is impossible. In anyway - best of luck!
You should try to get high quality links from trusted sites that are relevant to your site, and use the correct anchor text or try using trackbacks, it is also effective.I like blog commenting as well, but the problem is that many bloggers do not allow to put keywords in the name which results in that your link back will be your name, instead of your main keyword. This works for well known bloggers, but not for those who are still working to build their traffic.
You'll basically get out what you put in. The more work you put in, slowly but surely so your traffic will rise. To get a blog getting 5k+ visitors per day, you're going to probably have to have a bit of longevity behind you, and find a niche that's sought after, as well as writing regular, interesting and engaging content.
