how much experience did you have when you made your first forum?

I started off with a general discussion forum on InvisionFree and it didn't work out. But hey, don't we all start out like that? ;)

Most people are completely inexperienced when they start their first forum. I know I was, but I have been in forums for about a year and a half now, I've tried every forum software that is well known, so I am pretty experienced now, and could do fine making a forum with almost any forum software.

I had nothing. At all. A few years ago, i joined this one general forum with 2 members and 5 posts. From then on, i've made progress.

I still want to know more than i do.

Well when I started I had some idea of what I was doing because my brother started making forums before I did. So I just was watching what he did and pretty much copied it.

I had started posting on forums since 2006 on an online text based game (not your typical ones) then I went through there.

Hmm, not much at all. I'd been on forums for around six months, and I had no experience with InvisionFree, just a small bit of experience with phpBB. But I soon learnt.

To be honest, when I started my first forum, I didn't have the slightest clue what I was doing. Once I started looking up FAQ's and learning from people I knew that ran forums, things got easier, but when I first started, I really was basic in knowledge. Documentation is the best thing for you to learn from though, imo, and can help a new Forumer quite a bit.

A newbie. I tested so many different forum software before. I actually tested for fun. After a few months, I decided to create my own forum. I spent days adding mods and modifying my theme.

I didn't know anything about forums when I started, and I slowly started reading all the Docs and FAQs and such, and it all came pretty easy to me.
