There are a few websites who are a bit slow but are very informative, while few are very quick and still informative, although less then the slow one. Would the site speed be one of the major factor which people should look into while making the website ? What would you prefer to have?

A couple of milli seconds would never put me off a good site but if there is a long wait between browsing pages then yes, i would most likely look for the information on another site.

You know there is a particular KB you need in a site, if i am not mistaken it should be 20KB so that it will load faster. Pictures with it should be in jpeg or gif file only because it has lesser weight in loading. It is important to load fast a particular site so that visitor won't get bored waiting to view your site.

yes, speed of the site is one of the major important factors when building a website. Most visitors are generally time-savvy. So if the loading of the site takes too slow, they may not become interested anymore to see your site.

Speed is very important for the site, for the users hesitated to continue if the site is slow so the bounce rate will be high . Also SE bots will ignore some bottom page if its take some more time.

Users often hates waiting a long time just to wait for a website to load. Especially if he/she is running out of time to get what he need when searching, so its a hustle for someone to wait a little longer. Maybe one bad factor that makes a site loads slow is its dynamic content like full of flash content, table formatted layout or its embed with videos.

If the site takes too long to load the connection may time out. If you have a slow site and you go into your google webmaster tools, you may see a lot of errors where the pages failed to load due to a timeout.

Google and the other search engines are only going to wait X amount of time before they move to the next site. Those spiders do not have time to wait on slow sites.

Its important to make sure that your site loads fast, fast enough so it will not time out when being indexed.

The more important is our website is having standard speed. What I mean is our website will no slower than 30 seconds. If within 30 seconds you cannot attract your visitors, they will off your website.

Well I never know that search engine will wait x amount of second in a website. Thanks for this info.

Speed on some types of sites are ultra critical we run a File Hosting and a Mirror site and speed is a must at the moment we run a 1gig connection to both of these sites as the minimum the main reason being if you have alot of people up/downloading at the same time it can slow the sites down big time.

I think, the speed of the website is one of the most important thing for what I'm looking. I can't stay on those websites that loading time is very high. I need those information in that moment, and I can't wait for them.
    Time is money! :D

If your site doesn't load with in seconds, people get bored and go away.
How fast does Google load? Yes I use them as a model in this instance.
Obviously you'll want to stay away from fat images that take a long time to load. A slow loading site is a trait of an amatuer, to say the least.

If the site takes too long to load so that the visitor can't see what's on it, regardless of how good it is, they will leave. Site speed > content. But then again, without content, you can't have a website. Therefore, try to maximize speed while providing the best content possible.

Site speed should be better, because no one waits for anyone one who is giving a late response,it damages your image in the site.

Site speed is important so that visitors won't get bored when your page is loading. You have to consider the weight of your layout graphics, pictures, widgets, etc. so that it won't take too long upon loading. Most of the visitors don't spend too much time waiting for a page to load and because of that they will going to close it right away with that a large amount of bounce rate for your site occur.
