I never had success with free directories. I never got a backlink from a directory.

Free directories are low quality and does not worth to spend time on them to submit your website. If you want good backlinks do article marketing. It takes a little bit longer to build a backlink (because you need to write an article), but have much more value.:sleepy:

i also not agree for website promotion through a free directory.i only submitted my sites in the high pr dir and write quality article and do more seo activities.

Right, I think you might want to use tools for directory submission purpose and invest your times in other channels like social networking, social bookmarking, article submission and blogging.

the simple wat to promote your website via of directory is to submit you website to lots of directories and ultimately you will get approved in directories which will increase your backlinks and your search engine ranking will increase slowly and gradually
