Are you still after some dead end directories, buying links ( sorry guys, don't want to spoil your business initiatives, though, but this is an activity that is being closely watched and spoiled already, and its effect can be as bad as it could be ), comment dropping etc.; all these things that worked before ?
Hello! It's 2010. The internet is evolving, the approaches are new and constantly changing. Don't be afraid of change for change is the driving force of evolution. Now get rid of the past and start riding the wave !

Absolutely right , alot of the old "seo tricks" no longer work and it will be the difference between the SEO's that want to survive in the business to evolve . Although things have been changing on a large scale in the seo business for a while it seems that especially after this customised searches came into play alot of SEO's seem to be leaving the business :~

Its not that the old technique is no longer effective. You can adopt the old technique and improve it in a way that you add something to make it even more effective than what it was before.

    Haha, right.
Social media at first, bringing out the brand impact, the buzz provoking, and the subsequent link bait effect as major alternative to dead end directories.
And, because this is not enough, the rest is described in just one word : creativity.

If you're referring to my opinion, let's first make sure that I haven't mentioned that linking is no longer working.
What I tried to emphasize is that the old ways of doing this are no longer powerful enough.

That new life. Follow me as such, it has time to change, giving people the change.
You have enough patience to continue. You switch to other sectors. All because you.

    Wished all success.

buzz provoking etc that is what they call offline public relation imo it will be more difficult for the small webmaster to rank well since all the "new social movement":D favors big brands just look at the hype over the ipad - this was amazing and actually went on my nerves a bit - since there are better solutions out there like the enTourage eDGe? Store - enTourage eDGe but they got almost no press coverage

I have to admit though that the days of only link building through directories and such are over - this also will have an effect on the seo industry (more need for creative people and solution then rather form/link submitters)

My suggestions would be: using the so-called old tricks and paying some more attentions to the rising channel like social networking. :)

    Have a nice day,
